sample representativity Solid specific gravity:
The solid specific gravity is not the same as the percent solid or pulp density. The solid density or specific gravity is the mass per unit volume of dry solid (kg/dm3 or kg/L or g/cm3). The procedure to determine the solid volume, hence its density is simple using water.

Charge weight calculation:
In laboratory tests, the weight of solid ore charge to be tested needs to be appropriately determined.
This is to obtain the correct percent solid in a feed stream (e.g., leach feed or flotation feed).
The provided online tool accounts for the effective (slurry) volume, water and solid densities, as well as the target solid content.

Minimum number of tests:
In order to statistically detect a difference D between two means using Student's t-tests, the number of tests or sample size for each condition needs to be above a minimum value.

Tests Randomisation:
To minimise bias in metallurgical testing, it is common practice to randomise the tests of different conditions.
Each test condition/variation should also be repeated a number of times (example in triplicate) to assess the reproducibility.
This tool is very handy in randomising such tests of different conditions.
